In what seems like an odd coincidence, the second egg from our nest was also picked up by a boater this afternoon. It was found floating several hundred yards north (downwind) of the island on a lake with waves over a foot high at times. To further the odd coincidences, Rosie and I were only a hundred feet or so from where it was seen and picked up. The folks who found it had just visited with us for a minute and were setting up to fish their way down the lake. What are the odds?
In spite of the failure here, we have to remember that we have still had a successful season with a chick each at Silver Lake and Goshen Dam. And next year we all get another chance. Mike
