Doug Perkins
Secretary

  • Doug is a fourth generation Vermonter who graduated from Burlington High School many moons ago. After getting his BA from Dartmouth College, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard, where he spent 22 years as a surface operations officer in assignments around the world. Along the way, he qualified as a ship salvage diving officer, obtained a private pilot's license with instrument and multi-engine ratings, was awarded a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Northeastern University, and rose to the rank of Commander. After retiring from the Coast Guard in the mid-90's, Doug worked for 15 years as a project manager and program analyst for a succession of consulting firms in the Washington, DC area. When the siren call of Vermont simply became too overwhelming, Doug left the DC rat race behind... buying vacant property on Fern Lake where he and Chree, his wife of over 50 years, spent eight years designing and building their retirement dream home. The Perkins have been year-round residents since 2016 ... and hopefully for many decades to come

Guy Morelle

  • Guy and his family have been fortunate to be year round residents on Fern Lake since 2015. Before landing in Vermont, he spent many years traveling the country taking jobs as a biological technician, botanist, outdoor environmental educator, and wilderness adventure leader. Guy has a B.S. in Biology from SUNY Geneseo, and a Master of Education degree in Environmental Education from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Since settling in Vermont, he has been teaching in the Slate Valley School District; currently teaching high school math and science.

Fern Lake and Lake Dunmore are natural treasures. Guy has served on the LDFLA Water Quality Committee for the last 5 years because he would like to help keep them that way. His goal as a board member would be to support the health, ecological integrity, and natural beauty of these lakes and their watersheds for the long term.

Rich Schneider
Trustee

  • Rich and Jaime Schneider have owned property on Lake Dunmore since 2010, but have now become full time residents since Rich’s retirement as the Norwich University President in May 2020. After 28 years leading Norwich they were ready for a change of pace, and found it here in Leicester on the lake!!

A graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering, Rich spent 8 years on active duty and then 22 years as a Coast Guard Reservist. He retired from the Coast Guard with the rank of Rear Admiral. He holds a Masters Degree from Wesleyan University, and a Doctorate in finance and public policy from the University of Delaware. He is a Trustee of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, a Trustee of the National Coast Guard Museum Foundation, and helped as a volunteer with the LDFLA Lakes Alive fundraising campaign. Much of his retirement time, however, has been spent helping lead all Vermont Colleges’ response to the COVID 19 pandemic. He hopes he is working himself, and all of us, out of that job!!!

Sarah Voight Pritchard

  • Sarah Pritchard is a Vermont native currently residing on Lake Dunmore full-time with her husband (Austin Pritchard) and Yellow Lab (Levon Helm Pritchard). Sarah's family have been members of the Lake Dunmore community for generations. She spent every summer with her maternal grandparents, Mary Jane Churchill Wing and Howard "Pete" Wing, until her parents bought the family property next door in the 90s. She has been a part of the milfoil eradication effort since she could float and snorkel. It has been said that the Lake raised her and her cousins.

Professionally, Sarah is a principal owner of Plan Integrity Partners, LLC, a Third Party Administration firm providing Retirement Plan design and consulting services to businesses across the country. She works from her home on Indian Trail. Her focus in the business is on collaborating with financial advisors and CPAs to customize retirement plan programs for local and national businesses of all sizes.

In her spare time (when she can find it!) you will find her puttering around the garden, tinkering with her boat, floating in the lake, or chasing her nieces and (soon-to-be) nephew around the neighborhood. She is passionate about maintaining the quality of life on the lake for residents and visitors alike. Lake Dunmore is an incredibly special place to Sarah and her family. She is eager for the opportunity to give back.

He served on the LDFLA Board of Trustees since the fall of 2009 to 2015 in the capacity of Treasurer.  During this time he identified the need for substantially increased funds to meet future needs.  This led to the Lakes Alive – Now & Forever capital campaign where he serves as the Campaign Director
